Spanish Town Spartans will be aiming to close out their best-of-three finals series of the Institute of Sports (INSPORTS) Community Basketball finals today, when they oppose Saints in game two at the National Stadium Courts, starting at 7:45 p.m.
In the opening game of the double-header, Arnett Gardens Rockers will face Eastern Pistons in the third-place play-offs, starting at 6 p.m.
The Spartans lead the series 1-0 following their 76-61 victory over the Saints on Sunday night.
Lennox Lindo, coach of the Spartans, said his team would be coming out firing to ensure that they close out the series today.
Very confident
"We are very confident that we are going to close it tomorrow (today) because they have never beaten us this season and we are going to pick up were we left off from game one, by winning this match," said Lindo.
He warned, though, that they were not going to get over-confident and underestimate their opponents because they were desperate for a win.
"We are not going to take them lightly because if they lose then it is curtains for them, and so we are expecting a tough game from them," Lindo said.
The Spartans' charge for victory will be led by David Harrison, who scored a game-high 18 points in game one, along with Lynford Brown and Christopher Jennings, who contributed 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Saints, eager to level the series, will rest their hopes on star players Elvenda Norman and Conroy Morgan, who both scored 14 points apiece in the opening-game defeat.
