Who are the jcdc Claro Festival song contestants?

This is the last of The Gleaner 's profiles on the contestants in this year's CLARO Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's (JCDC) Festival Song Competition. Look out for a synopsis of the roadshows which culminate in the final to be held on July 30 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.

Song Title: Jamaica Nice

Born in Riversdale, St Catherine, RockIrie attended the Berry Hill All Age School. Before entering the Festival Song Competition, he performed at many concerts in his community before leaving for Kingston to pursue a career in music. While in Kingston, RockIrie worked as a chef in several restaurants in the Corporate Area. He also teamed up with friends to form a music group called the 'All Sparkling House Family'.

RockIrie has continued recording as a solo artiste and is eager to break into the music business. He sees the CLARO JCDC Festival Song Competition as an opportunity to achieve his dream of breaking into the business.
