Founders and spiritual leaders of the Power of Faith Ministries, Bishop Dr Delford Davis and his wife, Reverend Petrova Davis, were pleasantly surprised and felt humbled as they were given two cruise tickets by the church, during an appreciation service for them at Power of Faith Ministries, Portmore Town Centre, recently.

The service was held under the theme: 'The journey - thank you for giving 27 years'.

The congregation acknowledged that was a fitting reward for the ministers of religion who had been running the affairs of the ministry for the past 27 years.

They received tokens from different departments in the church that was born in a tent, in Waterford, in the early 1980s.

Bishop Dr Herro Blair, guest speaker at the service, said nothing is too good for the pastor who leads the flock. He went on to say that "God calls us to support our pastors. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love." Bishop Blair noted that a pastor is in a precarious position, as he cannot please everyone.

Many musical presentations came from the senior citizens group, the ushers and others. The celebrants thanked the congregation and all who made the service a success. They also cut cake, much to the delight of the congregation. Special recognition went to Supreme Chemicals, major sponsor of Power of Faith's radio programme aired on Love 101 FM, and Ethan Sinclair, partner, Myers, Fletcher & Gordon. Tributes came from various pastors including Bishop V.T. Williams.
