Stars R Us to illuminate Mas Camp
Another staging of the highly-anticipated vintage showcase, Stars R Us, is scheduled to take place at the Mas Camp, Oxford Road, New Kingston, tomorrow.
The venue will be burning hot with artistes of the calibre of John Holt, Ken Boothe, Karen Smith, Gregory Isaacs, Derrick Harriott, Little John, Errol Dunkley and Dennis Walks. Vintage party master, Stokey Love, from Kool FM, will 'keep the music honest', and the organisers have emphasised that the show will start promptly at 9 pm.
Walks will be armed with his big hits of the '70s - Oh Maragret, Drifter and What Eyes Don't See - to ensure a great start for the night.
Little John needs no introduction as his slew of hits, including True Confession, Mud Up and All Over Me, are favourites with the fans.
Songbird Karen Smith always makes a huge impact when she hits the stage and has that special knack of making even the oldest of oldies ring out clean and fresh. A charming performer, Karen Smith interacts well with the audience as she stamps her class and gives what is normally a memorable performance.
Big hits
Errol Dunkley will 'sell off' the event with big hits from his repertoire including Cinderella, Movie Star and You're Gonna Need Me. Derrick Harriott's Walk The Streets At Night, Solomon, What Can I Do, Loser and Checking Out, among others, can easily create an upset for the night.
There will be drink specials - mixed drinks two-for-one deal and Heineken bucket deals all night. Admission is $1,000 presold and $1,200 at the gate.
