Sudan (AP):
Sudanese police say a head-on vehicle collision killed 37 people south of the capital.
General Saad Eddin Idris says a commuter truck and a bus crashed head on when the speeding bus was trying to overtake another vehicle on a road nine miles (15 kilometres) south of the capital Khartoum. He told the Sudanese News Agency yesterday that 26 people were also injured in the collision. Roads are busy in Sudan this time of year as many people return home from vacations taken at the end of the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan.
