After finishing studies at the University of the West Indies, expect to see Tara Wright flitting between social work and the runway. If you do, it would have meant she is living her dreams.

Born on January 9, 1990 at St Andrew's Hospital to Bobbette Smith and Brodrick Wright, Tara Ieshea Wright is number 13 of 15 siblings; she has 6 sisters and 8 brothers.

She grew up in the parish of St Elizabeth where she lived for 10 years, while attending Munro Preparatory and Hampton High schools.

While at Hampton, Wright was involved in a number of extra-curricula activities such as the Bible Quiz, the Red Cross and badminton.

She moved back to Kingston three years ago, where she started school at the University of the West Indies studying social work. She wants to reach out to people, helping the mentally challenged and those with drug addictions; and is also interested in going into politics, having been the assistant public relations officer of the G2K in 2009.

Tara wishes her father was around to witness her latest accomplishment. She is the holder of the Full Figure title, which she earned in the 2010 Pulse Caribbean Model Search.

She intends to make the best of the opportunity, regardless.

"I am most grateful for life and that God has blessed me with a wonderful talent that I am comfortably able to use. I am also thankful for the few but wonderful persons that he has blessed my life with, as their support helps me to become the strong, beautiful individual I am," said Wright, not long after winning the competition.

Why modelling?

Why not modelling? It's cool and it's interesting. Especially for full-figure modelling, it's new and it's happening, so it's just a good opportunity to showcase your talent.

Does size matter?

Umm ... nope it doesn't. Well ... in the past it mattered, because back then modelling only catered to smaller girls. But Pulse has made the opportunity available for girls my size to be able to show what they have.

How confident were you of winning the competition?

I was reasonably confident, all the girls were beautiful and talented in their own way; but you just have to tell yourself that win or lose you're still a winner, so I had my hopes up.

What's your ultimate modelling goal?

To make a name for myself, so everyone can say that's the girl that put full-figure modelling on top.

Three words that describe you are?

Talented, nice and adventurous. I get along with people easily and I have modelling talent; and I'm not afraid to try new things.

How did you begin modelling?

Funny enough, I followed my friend, who's a petite model, to Pulse and I saw somebody else there who was my size. I was like, "Really, Pulse was doing this?" I came back the following week and did auditions and ended up winning the competition.
