Supreme Ventures Sports Betting, through their brand, justbet, kicked off the 2010-11 National Basketball Association (NBA) betting season on Tuesday night, with their NBA launch parties held at all three Arena Sports Bars at the Acropolis locations - Barbican Centre in St Andrew, The Castle Building in Portmore and Bargain Village Plaza in May Pen; and at Coral Cliff in Montego Bay.

Activities were focused around the regular season's opening night games, which featured the new-look Miami Heat, with all-star Dwayne Wade, new additions Lebron James (the 2008 and 2009 League Most Valuable Player) and Chris Bosh, going up against last season's losing finalists and 17-time NBA champions, the Boston Celtics, with their own foursome of former league MVP Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen.

In other opening night games, the Portland Trailblazers hosted the Phoenix Suns, while the defending champions, LA Lakers, led by five-time champion and former league MVP, Kobe Bryant, hosted the Houston Rockets.

The Celtics topped the Heat 88-80, the Lakers got the better of the Rockets 112-110 and the Trailblazers beat the Suns 106-92.

A major highlight of the evening's activities was the announcement of justbet's new mobile text information service, through which the public will be able to register to receive information such as game/match schedules and betting odds on their favourite teams in the top international football leagues, the NBA, the NFL and world cricket, directly to their mobile devices, free of cost.

Evaluation

Patrons present for the tip-off launch event at Acropolis Barbican got the opportunity to sign up to be part of a private beta launch test group to evaluate the service.

Justbet plans to roll out the service islandwide after this final phase of testing and evaluation is complete - which is expected in a couple of weeks.

"We at justbet are extremely pleased and excited as we begin what promises to be an exciting journey to the NBA Finals in June 2011," said justbet's Brand Manager, Andrei Roper, during the tip-off festivities at the Acropolis Barbican location.

He added: "When we launched justbet in January, we were already at the midpoint of the NBA season and so this time around, we're happy to be offering wagering from the start of this year's competition. We have the complete package for NBA fans, the sports betting experience with justbet, coupled with the viewing and dining experience at the Arena Sports Bars at the Acropolis locations and at Coral Cliff.

"So we invite all our basketball fans across Jamaica to 'put your money where your mouth is', place your bets on all the action during the season and, of course, come enjoy the games at the Acropolis and at Coral Cliff," Roper challenged.

Justbet will offer the public the opportunity to bet on each game right through the season. Wagering will also be offered on which teams will emerge Conference Champions and, of course, on which team will win the overall championship. Fans will also be able to enjoy the NBA viewing experience on big TV screens each weekend during the season at all three Arena Sports Bars at the Acropolis locations and Coral Cliff.
