Jamaica - the world's leading cruise destination

Jamaica once again triumphed in the World Gala section of the World Travel Awards by being voted the World's Leading Cruise Destination, at the annual grand final Gala Ceremony in London on Saturday, November 6.

Transport and works minister L. Michael Henry, who has portfolio responsibility for the Port Authority of Jamaica, accepted the award.

It is the fifth consecutive year that Jamaica was voted by thousands of international travel professions as the Leading Cruise Destination. The Port Authority of Jamaica, which has responsibility for cruise shipping, was represented by its vice-president for Cruise Shipping and Marina Operations, William Tatham.

The 17th Annual World Travel Awards Grand Gala Final Ceremony was held at the Marriott Grosvenor House hotel in Mayfair, London.
