Sts Peter and Paul fun day this month
The Sts Peter and Paul Preparatory School will be hosting its annual fun day fund-raiser, on the school grounds on November 27.
The event is scheduled to start at approximately 10:30 a.m. and will run until 5:30 p.m.
Tickets for the fun day, which can be purchased at the school, will attract a cost of $1,000 and will be inclusive of six free rides.
Bertina Macaulay, chairperson of the school's fund-raising committee, spoke about the purpose of the fund-raiser saying, "We have a lot of children. There's almost a thousand children at our school. It's a way to raise funds and to have the children have fun at the same time. It's just a real fun day for the children to enjoy themselves."
Rides and activities
Bounce-a-bout, merry-go-round, go-kart, trampoline, water slide, bounce and slide, face painting, balloon art, a disco room and a concert, which will run throughout the day, are among the many activities planned.
During the concert, dance, deejaying and singing contests will be held.
There will also be a garage sale among the day's activities, which will see many items such as art, plants, musical instruments, electronics, toys and furnishings being sold. Some items will cost as little as $100.
The main reason for the fund-raiser, said Claudia Nugent, vice-principal of Sts Peter and Paul, is to revamp the school's kindergarten department.
"We want to revamp our kindergarten department, we already have an early-childhood department and we want to add a nursery as well," she said.
She invited all to come out and enjoy the day's festivities, saying, "We want the public to just come out and support the fun day. It's an annual event and it has always been successful. They should just come out and enjoy a day of guaranteed fun."
