Appleton Jamaica Rum launches A-Team
The global direction taken worldwide to combine forces to make for more powerful bargaining as has been the case with the European Union many years ago, the United States, and the Caribbean single market and economy is being copied. Entertainment has begun to follow suit and Appleton Jamaica Rum will be leading that charge, beginning this month.
The A-Team, a group of promoters across the island also stage some of the biggest events in their respective parishes, will be unveiled on December 1.
Forty Winks from Mandeville, Rebel T Spring Break, Dolce and Ink'd from Negril, Impy Skimpy from Ocho Rios, Friction from May Pen, Officially Diagnosed and Temperature from Montego Bay, Smudge, Karma, Barcode, Altitude, Rum Punch, Yesterdays, and Musique from Kingston, are just some of the parties that become a part of the group.
"This is the first time an association like this has ever been done and AJR is proud to present the best events under one banner," said David Walton, brand manager of Appleton Jamaica Rum. "ATI is the closest to compare to the A-Team. However, this group is much different and spans over 30 events in one year," continued Walton.
"Most of the events under the A-Team banner have been events that have been with AJR over a number of years, though it would be the first time working with the group. Yesterday's Best of the 90s and Smudge for instance, are parties that were once Appleton-sponsored and have become so again," said IB Konteh, spokesperson for A-Team.
"This is an experienced group of promoters who have staged events across the Caribbean and also North America. The average experience of the group is little over five years," Konteh explained.
The A-Team will be officially launched this week.
There are also plans afoot to establish work with a local charity and also major promotions for a drinking responsibly campaign associated with the A-team.
