Trinidad are out
Trinidad and Tobago are out of the Digicel Caribbean Cup after suffering their second loss in Group H of the finals in Martinique.
The Soca Warriors who were beaten 2-0 by Cuba last Friday night, lost 1-0 to Grenada yesterday and are pointless after two games. The group is led by Cuba who wrapped up a semi-final spot with a 1-0 win over the hosts last night. Cuba have six points and Grenada four. They are followed by Martinique with one from a 1-1 draw with Grenada on Friday's opening night of the finals.
Trinidad started yesterday's game with an almost completely new side from the one that competed against Cuba and with coach Russell Latapy obviously in no humour to suffer any more setbacks the team started well.
The winning goal for Grenada came in the 69th minute when Kitson Bain scored what must have been the goal of the tournament. He collected the ball on the far left of the pitch, cut inside his marker and with four defenders in front of him, he just let fly from all of 25 metres and watched as the ball screamed into the top right corner of the Trinidad net, in off the post.
