Chelsea vs Man United postponed

LONDON (AP):

Chelsea's home game against title rivals Manchester United was called off as heavy snow wiped out most of the weekend Premier League programme.

The conditions made it too hazardous for fans to attend matches yesterday. Chelsea's game today was the most high-profile of seven top-flight games to fall victim to the big freeze.

The Stamford Bridge game was postponed around 27 hours before kickoff after consultation with the police in London.

Games at Arsenal and Liver-pool were called off hours before kickoff yesterday, when only two matches were played - Sunderland facing Bolton and Blackburn against West Ham.

There will be no matches today.
