Thirty wonderful years

Family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers came out in style to fellowship and celebrate 30 years of marriage with Robert Jackson and his wife Sandra at the Golden Gate Restaurant in Northside Plaza, St Andrew, on Saturday, December 11.
The evening was marked by recollections of events from the courtship years, through the work and fellowship years in the Jehovah Witness faith to the present. Friends and co-workers recalled Robert as an avid footballer for the team at The Gleaner where he works, and praised Sandra for making him complete. Robert also received high praise for the excellent care he has taken of his wife, especially in times of illness. "He is a great father and a good husband and I am glad he came into my daughter's life," said his mother-in-law, Icylyn Wilson-Cohen.
Their children, Jermaine and Andrew, spoke volumes about their parents fine example of love, loyalty to their wedding vows, the special trips they always take together and the absence of animosity that make them " the best parents in the world; a good husband and a good wife for each other." The boys elicited some laughter when they confessed to now finding themselves behaving exactly like their dad and thanked their parents for the dedication they showed during their years at school. "Dad was a regular at parent-teacher meetings and that made things a lot better for us,"Jermaine said.
In his reply, Robert Jackson thanked everyone for making the anniversary memorable; and his wife, without whom, "none of this would have been possible."
