As a new year takes shape, Saint International model Shena Moulton is certainly proving to be the model of the moment with her enviable end-of-year gigs that places her on the top of the list for fashion's most selective power brokers for the new year.

"Oscar De La Renta and his stylist Alex White totally adored Shena and requested her for the pre-fall collections this month and we couldn't say no," said an understandably excited Deiwght Peters.

Moulton walked among a cadre of fashion's top models of the moment in New York City in December.

Vogue's Best Dressed Special Edition featured Moulton's chic profile dressed in Marc Jacobs and escorted by her chaperone Andre Cowan during her Paris Fashion Week. The captioned page 'As Right As Rain-When It Pours The Umbrellas Has Chic Covered' featured other celebrities such as Penelope Cruz and Kate Hudson.

Shena has become the darling of the fashion world since debuting on the New York catwalk in September 2009. She created a huge buzz last year and walked into the history books when she walked for the iconic and 'star-making' brand of Calvin Klein for three consecutive seasons as the only black model.

"Shena's star has been steadily rising from her discovery two short years ago. We are proud of her display of style and maturity on the global stage representing Jamaica well," said Peters.

Competitive batch

Since discovering Moulton at Penwood High School on an RJR Radiocation Tour in 2008, Peters has been her mentor and guide and manager for her international career. Moulton came to prominence winning the Fashion Face of the Caribbean contest from a competitive batch. She created history as the youngest contestant to win a regional model contest and earn an international contract on the spot.

Within weeks of her victory, the young Jamaican beauty, who originated from Waterhouse, earned representation from some of the world's top agencies, including Elite Paris, Models 1 London, Elite Milan and Uno Barcelona.

Moulton has walked for some of the world's most iconic fashion brands, including Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Dries Van Noten, Thakoon, Christian Dior, Rochas, Sonia Rykiel, Tommy Hilfiger, Top Shop, Nicole Fahri, Jaeger, Max Mara, Jil Sander and many others.

'There is no doubt that the stars are aligning for Moulton to become a powerful international star. She could be around for a very long time,' Peters noted.

Peters hinted that a major international brand wants to shoot Moulton for its 2011 international campaign but was tight-lipped when questioned about the identity of the brand.
