Auto event promises to thrill
Kingsley Scott, promoter of Slippery Wen Wett, says this year's staging of the event will be three times better.
The annual auto show is scheduled for Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Pines Plaza in Junction, St Elizabeth.
"It's going to be dubbed Liquid Nitro Trilogy," said Scott. "And, it'll be triple the excitement."
The promoter said one of the attractions at the family event will be the Terrible Three.
"This event will see three young racers — all under 11 years old — squaring off," he said. "They are Steven Singh, Nicholas Barnes and Chris-John Addison, and they all have racing in their blood."
He said Singh is the younger brother of dexterity drivers Randal and Sanjay, while Barnes is the son of race-car driver Junior 'Flete' Barnes. Addison, he said, is son of dexterity champion, Christopher 'Chippy' Anderson.
Scott said another special attraction of the event is the Triple X-hibition.
"This competition will see teams of four doing some of the most amazing car exhibitions while competing for $100,000," he said.
two drivers per car
"There will be two drivers to a car. The person in the driver's seat will be using the accelerator, clutch and brake only, while the person in the passenger seat will be steering and operating the gear stick and hand brake. In addition, there's the now famous 4 x 1 relay," he said. "Patrons are in for a treat."
He said barricades and an ambulance would be on-hand in the event of any eventualities.
"Admission is $500 for adults and $300 for children," Scott said. "And, it's gonna be a memorable event."
