BT, Santos clash in Bell KO quarter-finals

Published:Wednesday | January 19, 2011 | 12:00 AM

Oneil 'Bigga' Thompson, Marvin Morgan and Jamiel Hardware are expected to lead Boys' Town's charge when they face KSAFA Super League campaigners Santos in today's first leg of the quarter-finals of the KSAFA/Claro Jackie Bell knockout competition at the Bell Chung Oval at 3:30 p.m.

In what should be an exciting tie, both teams will be seeking to gain an advantage heading into the return leg, which will be played at Collie Smith Drive, with Thompson, Morgan and Hardware expected to play integral roles for the visitors.

On current form, the Andrew Price-coached Boys' Town should prevail over the two legs. The Collie Smith Drive-based club are third in the Digicel Premier League (DPL), the top football competition in the country, while Santos are fourth in the Claro KSAFA Super League. The rivalry between both clubs goes back many years, however, and any meeting between the two will be competitive.

Santos, coached by Carlton 'Spanner' Dennis, will look to ace goalgetter Fabian Nethersole and Terrence Allen as they seek to ambush the Red Brigade.

In a clash of DPL teams, leaders Tivoli Gardens and fourth-place Harbour View will meet at Harbour View at 7 p.m, while in a double-header at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, KSAFA/Claro Major League outfit, Police National, and Waterhouse of the DPL will clash at 5 p.m. before Arnett Gardens go up against another Claro Major League team, Greenwich Town, at 7 p.m.

The return legs for all the games will be played on February 2.
