Tottenham loan Keane to struggling West Ham
LONDON (AP):
Ireland captain Robbie Keane has joined struggling West Ham on loan from Tottenham for the rest of the season, with an option for a two-year contract should the club stay in the English Premier League.
Keane has received limited first-team opportunities since returning for a second spell at Spurs at the start of 2009. He has moved across London to join a team that is bottom of the league with almost two-thirds of the campaign gone.
The deal was announced yesterday by both clubs.
Keane says, "we have some good players here and I am sure we can stay up".
West Ham has also recently signed Senegal striker Demba Ba, defender Wayne Bridge and midfielder Gary O'Neil.
Tottenham have also loaned Jamie O'Hara to Wolves until the end of the season.
Bradley transfer
Meanwhile, Aston Villa says talks to bring United States midfielder Michael Bradley to the Premier League on loan from Bundesliga club Borussia Moenchengladbach until the end of the season, are at an 'advanced stage'.
The English club said yesterday on its website that Bradley is due to have a medical and discuss personal terms within the next 24 hours.
The 23-year-old Bradley has made 50 appearances for his country - including at the 2009 Confederation Cup and the World Cup in South Africa last year - and is the son of US coach Bob Bradley.
The midfielder previously played in Major League Soccer and had a spell with Heerenveen, before moving to Moenchengladbach about two and a half years ago.
