POINTE-A-PIERRE, Trinidad (CMC): Kirk Edwards anchored Barbados' batting and was within sight of a second first-class hundred, in the WICB regional first-class championship against Trinidad & Tobago yesterday.

Edwards was unbeaten on 75 as Barbados, choosing to bat, reached 133 for two in their first innings on a rain-marred opening day of their first-round match at Guaracara Park.

The 26-year-old Edwards, a reserve for the West Indies World Cup team, struck 12 fours and one six from 157 balls, after the start was delayed by almost 41/2 hours because an adjoining pitch was left damp by rainwater seeping through faulty covers.
