Lisbie nets late winner for Millwall

LONDON, England (CMC):

Jamaican striker Kevin Lisbie came off the bench to snatch a last gasp win for Millwall as they beat Doncaster Rovers 1-0 at the New Den in England on Saturday.

The 32-year-old Lisbie, on a season-long loan from Ipswich, glanced in a header from close range with seconds left in the encounter to hand Millwall their sixth straight home win and their third victory in five outings.

Millwall are seventh in the Championship table on 45 points, just outside the play-off spots.

The hosts were guilty of being wasteful as they created several chances but failed to convert, in the absence of their leading marksman this season in Steve Morison who sat out the fixture with injury.

Alan Dunne sent an eighth-minute header over the bar before James Henry shot wide five minutes later.

39th minute effort

Liam Trotter had a 39th-minute effort ruled offside and his woes continued after the break when he headed wide following Scott Barron's corner.

Rovers wasted their share of chances too, as Sam Hird and Ryan Mason came close in the second half.

Both teams seemed almost resigned to a share of the points with the clock ticking away when Lisbie, a 58th-minute substitute, got onto the end of Henry's cross from the right to break Rovers hearts.
