CHENNAI, India:
Fast bowler Ajmal Shazhad is the latest player to miss training as illness and fatigue continues to plague England's squad as they play for their World Cup survival against West Indies today.
Captain Andrew Strauss told reporters yesterday that Shazhad wasn't feeling well. Strauss and spinner Graeme Swann were sick and missed practice on Tuesday.
Strauss said both he and Swann were recovering ahead of England's Group B showdown at Chennai and "fatigue is the last thing on our mind".
Having lost to Ireland and Bangladesh, England must beat West Indies to avoid exiting the tournament in the group stage. Strauss said his team had to look ahead now and he was "genuinely excited'' by the challenge.
