The 4-5 favourite SALUTE TO MOM is brought with a well-timed run to catch and beat the front-running ROJO (Doushane Gordon) by half a length in the seventh race for the Roderick 'Pilot' Francis Memorial Trophy over 1200 metres at Caymanas Park on Wednesday. Thanks to upsets by BULLET LINE at 19-1 and MOJITA JAM at 9-1, the Pick-9 offers a whopping $4.2 million carryover at Caymanas Park tomorrow.

It will embrace races three to 11 on the 11-race programme, while the first Super-6 will be conducted from race one to six, and the overlapping Super-6 from six to 11.

Today, we look at the second Super-6 which boasts a carryover of $853,033 from Wednesday.

It gets under way with a four-year-old and up restricted allowance IV (non-winners of three) to be contested by 11 mostly fit starters over 1500 metres.

After careful consideration, the trio of horses from which the winner should emerge is INDY QUEEN, PAT N GOLD and TRIAL LAWYER, who for the fourth consecutive time last Saturday was beaten as the odds-on favourite.

The Wayne DaCosta-trained TRIAL LAWYER should welcome this easier pace, but preference is for INDY QUEEN, who really looks tempting at the weights with only 52.kg and Richie Mitchell aboard. She finished a good third to GLOBAL WARMING over the distance in a fairly fast run race on January 22 and having pleased at exercise, gets the nod over TRIAL LAWYER and PAT N GOLD, who found only GRANDI ELANI too good over 1820 metres on March 9.

Next on the programme is Division II of an Exercise Riders Race (claming $180,000) over 800 metres (straight) in which 13 starters have been declared. ALEXANDRA'S SPIRIT and the free-running ONELITTLEWISH will more than likely carry the bulk of the betting and while I prefer ONELITTLEWISH, who will have to be caught, others such as FULL SPECTRUM, RANKING and MISTER OFFICER should ensure a keen contest in a race of this nature.

The Lawrence Freemantle-trained ONELITTLEWISH, well drawn on the stands' side to win from ALEXANDRA'S SPIRIT and FULL SPECTRUM, is my idea of the outcome.

good run expected

DANCE SO SWEET, who chased home the progressive SIR VON in a fast-run straight five race on March 26, gets the nod over MACHISMO and FLUFFY in the eighth race over 1200 metres for open allowance horses. The Gary Subratie-trained American filly will be better for that run and with only 52.0kg, should make no mistake.

The last three races should be won by the lightly raced but promising three-year-old filly REEF MAKER (working well), reigning champion sprinter SAINT CECELIA as a banker in the Lady Geeta Trophy feature over 1200 metres for grade one horses, to be contested by six starters, and TURBINE (working exceptionally well) in the closing race over the straight for maiden three-year-olds.
