Daley eyes double - National midfielder says Tivoli focused on lifting DPL, Flow titles

Tivoli Gardens' ace midfielder, Keammar Daley, believes his team has what it takes to cop the national double - the Digicel Premier League (DPL) and the Flow Champions Cup knockout.

The short but slippery midfielder made the pronouncement shortly after his team's 1-0 extra-time win over dethroned two-time champions Boys' Town in the second of two semi-final fixtures in the Flow Champions Cup at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex last Sunday.

Christopher Jackson scored the all-important goal, which signalled the end of what was a keenly contested affair in which both teams created an equal number of opportunities but were let down by faulty finishing.

Jackson netted from the penalty spot in the 102nd minute, after a penalty had been awarded when Asrick Samuels handled the ball inside the area.

"It has been a challenging season, but so far we are in a good position to cop the double, and that is all that is on our mind," said Daley, who was named Man of the Match and presented with a computer, courtesy of Flow, after the game.

"It would make the players and coaching staff feel proud and it would make our fans feel real happy. We just have to stay focused, remain positive and work hard," he added.

The first semi-final between St Georges Sports Club and Westmoreland surprise package, Sandals Whitehouse, saw the former coming away 3-0 victors.

Tivoli, who last won the Premier League in the 2008-09 season, currently lead the league standings with 68 points, three more than Boys' Town, with two rounds of matches remaining.
