Boxing legends join commentary team for Contender finale

KINGSTON:

Two of Jamaica's most famous boxing sons will lend their talent tonight at the grand finale of the J Wray and Nephew Contender boxing series.

Former undisputed world heavyweight champion, Lennox 'The Lion' Lewis and triple world boxing champion, Mike 'The Body Snatcher' McCallum, have been confirmed as commentators for the respective bouts.

McCallum, the three-time Jamaica Sportsman of the Year, will be behind the microphone, along with TVJ's Sports Editor, Patrick Anderson, for the first two undercard fights involving Ricardo Planter and Anthony Osbourne, and the Ian Smith and Kevin Hylton encounter.

Lewis, the former WBC heavyweight champion, will then step behind the mic to join Anderson for the main bout and grand finale between Rikardo Smith and Devon Moncrieffe, who will be vying for the J Wray and Nephew Contender title and the $1 million first prize money.

Executive producer of the boxing series, Mark Kenny, says it is a dream come true to have Jamaica's two most famous boxers on the final show.
