Tivoli Gardens-Boys' Town best XI

With the country's top two teams, Tivoli Gardens (TG) and Boys' Town (BT) getting ready to do battle in their Digicel Premier League (DPL) final-round contest, The Gleaner's sport desk decided to compile a squad consisting of the best players from both teams.

Formation:

3 - 5 - 2 (Jackson and Virgo providing support both in defence and attack with Thompson dropping deep to support the back three. Daley will pull the strings from a position between Boyd and the midfield).

Goalkeeper:

Edsel Scott (TG) - A goalkeeper of great talent, very experienced and always a showman. His camera-friendly reflex saves have defined his career and shoots him to the top of the pile of local goalkeepers.

Defenders:

Xavian Virgo (BT) - Offers the best of both worlds with his forward runs and his defensive acumen, making him one of the more balanced players in the league.

Wayne Ellis (BT) - The hard-nosed defender has impressed throughout with his physical presence and ability to read the game.

Asrick Samuels (BT) - He has been a rock at the back for Boys' Town. Whether in the centre or deployed in a wider position, the no-nonsense Samuels has proven his worth time and time again.

Kasai Hinds (TG) - A usually calm-headed and battle-ready warrior in defence. Kasai has fought his fights and certainly knows his way in the backline trenches.

Christopher Jackson (TG) - A marauding figure on the left side, an ever-present figure in his team's attacking support and not the easiest defender to get around.

Midfielders:

Renae Lloyd (BT) - Always playing with a smile, his silky movement and awareness has been a key element to Boys' Town rise this season.

Oniel Thompson (BT) - The heart of the Red Brigade's engine room. His positional intelligence and ability to pick the right pass provided a much-needed lift in quality.

Jamiel Hardware (BT) - What a revelation he has been! He does everything, create chances, scores goals, tracks back; a coach's delight. So mercurial has been his rise, that he has forced the more-fancied Marvin Morgan Jr out of the Boys' Town team, while cementing his place as one of the country's most promising players.

Forwards:

Keammar Daley (TG) - An incomparable force of creativity, the little wizard has left many a defender in his wake and with the dead ball at his feet being another component to his attacking mastery, it would be a crime to leave him out of this team.

Navion Boyd (TG) - Always willing to run the channels, Boyd's speed and incisive tendency has terrorised defenders all over the country. His ability to beat his marker and his knack for turning up at the right place at the right time, makes him one of the league's most fearsome attackers.
