With the day's five-star banker BURST OF ENERGY biting the dust, the Pick-9 had no takers at Caymanas Park on Wednesday and the carryover to tomorrow's meet stands at $1.48 million.

The Pick-9 embraces races four to 12, while the card will facilitate two Super-6s, the first from one to six, the second from seven to 12.

We look at the second Super-6 which gets under way with a tough-looking overnight allowance race over 1200 metres in which PRINCE OF PEACE, HERROYALHIGHNESS, MACHISMO, JAYLEN and the fleet-footed BOLDLY FORMAL are leading lights in the 10-horse field.

PRINCE OF PEACE (regaining form) will more than likely start favourite, having closed rapidly for third in the recent Easter Sprint Cup over 1100 metres on Easter Monday. The 5-y-o gelding from the stables of Richard Azan finished only 2¹/² lengths away third, in the process having HERROYALHIGHNESS (4th), THE GUARDIAN (5th) and fleet-footed BOLDLY FORMAL (9th) behind.

PRINCE OF PEACE, with champion jockey Omar Walker aboard, will relish the additional 100 metres of this race and should win from HERROYALHIGHNESS and BOLDLY FORMAL.

POSSE TRAIN, who just failed to catch the 50-1 outsider CARAZENYATTA over a mile recently, is tipped to go one better in the eighth race over 1400 metres in which old rivals INDY QUEEN and TRIAL LAWYER are twin dangers in a field of 12.

Close run

The then favourite INDY QUEEN and TRIAL LAWYER finished third and fourth, respectively, to CARAZENYATTA that day and INDY QUEEN, in particular, should run POSSE TRAIN real close.

TURBINE, who won impressively last time out, along with REEF MAKER and WINNIANA should fight out the finish of the ninth race over 1100 metres, with TURBINE preferred, while down-in-class PEDRO BLUFF (consistent) gets the nod over MING LEI and recent winner ONELITTLEWISH in the 10th again over 1100 metres for $180,000 claimers.

The race of the day is undoubtedly the 11th for open allowance horses. It brings together the classy American-bred horses CASSANOVA BOY (unbeaten in nine starts), who returns from a 10-month layoff, stable-companion SIR VON (seeks hat-trick), both trained by Wayne DaCosta, and MISMYRTYLEBOYRICHIE, who bids for his eighth consecutive win.

With all three working exceptionally well, it will be a battle royal, but the Tony Kirlew-trained 3-y-o colt MISMYRTLEBOYRICHIE has been one of the most exciting prospects to hit Caymanas Park in the past year or two and thus gets the vote, but only just, over SIR VON.

Then, take SURREAL (ideal trip) to win the closing 3-y-o maiden race ahead of MY PREROGATIVE and SHYANA.
