'Fast Five' takes chequered flag
EXCITEMENT filled the air as the roaring, high-powered motorcycles of Crazy Bikers took their places among the fast cars of Team Redlinerz.
This was the scene at the Sovereign Centre on Friday, May 13, as hundreds of specially invited guests turned out for Red Stripe Bold's private showing of Fast Five at the Palace Cineplex.
LeVaughn Flynn, brand public relations manager for Red Stripe, was pleased with the turnout at the event.
"The event was a great success," said Flynn. "We had great participation via the social media, which we used to tell our consumers that we were doing something that was new, fun and exciting."
"What made it fun was the movie, which provided the additional excitement," he continued.
According to United States media reports, Fast Five is the highest-rated entry in The Fast and the Furious franchise and has already grossed more than US$440 million.
The Chris Morgan-written and Justin Lin-directed action flick puts Dominic (Vin Diesel) and his all-star crew on the wrong side of the law once again as they try to switch lanes between a ruthless drug lord, (Hernan Reyes), and a relentless federal agent, (Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson).
Joseph Montaque, Team Redlinerz's director of marketing, said he was happy to be part of the adrenaline-filled night out.
"Team Redlinerz car club comprises a young group of professionals and we are pleased to partner with Red Stripe for this occasion," said Montaque. "Our club, just like Red Stripe, is bold and we represent the brand's target market," he said.
The director of marketing said his club totally endorsed the beer giant's sobering message.
"We fully endorse Red Stripe's message of drinking responsibly," he added.
