Lackief Leslie claims FEI Category C on I'msatisfied

Lackief Leslie is still celebrating after winning the Federation Equestrian International (FEI) World Jumping Challenge Category C 2011 competition recently on retired triple crown winner and horse of the year, I'msatisfied, at the Kingston Polo and Equestrian Centre (KPEC).

Leslie, who had to overcome the challenges of Brian Schwapp on Trelawny, and Alex Chin on Gemini, claimed the event after recording four faults in the second round on day one, and eight faults in the last round on day two. He finished with an overall time of 74.86 seconds.

Schwapp, who in the end turned out to be Leslie's main competitor in the final round, finished with 28 faults, despite a faster time of 64.19 seconds.

Schwapp had not ridden competitively for five months and had only two weeks to prepare for this competition.

Both riders are coached by Susan Wates at KPEC. Tiffany Ralston on Patriot finished fourth.

The next FEI competition will be a Category A, and will be held next week Saturday and Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. at KPEC. Admission is free.

The competition will see the "high jumpers" competing at a height of 1.20m.

FEI is the sole controlling authority for all international events in show jumping, dressage and eventing.
