Hall beats fellow Jamaican Bell

HOLLYWOOD, Florida (CMC):

Richard Hall knocked the 'hell' out of fellow Jamaican O'Neil Bell, stunning the former undisputed cruiserweight World champion with a second round knockout on Saturday.

The 39-year-old Hall, a former light-heavyweight title challenger, put his 36-year-old compatriot away in 1:58 of the round, improving his record to 30 wins (28KOs) against eight losses.

The six-foot, three-inch tall Hall took the fight right to Bell at the opening bell, and he got his first stoppage win of note since he stopped Byron Mitchell in the fourth round in late 2007.

Hall wobbled Bell, who is also known as ring name is 'Give 'Em Hell', with a left hand to the head.

He followed up with a brutal attack, forcing the referee to put Bell, whose record has now slipped to 26-4-1, out of his misery in the bout at the Hard Rock LIVE Arena.

The result will give a boost to the career of Hall, but leaves Bell's in limbo, following his third straight defeat.

It was Bell's first fight since being TKO'd by Tomasz Adamek in April 2008, which followed a majority decision defeat against Jean-Marc Mormeck in March 2007.
