Members of the Jamaica netball team train at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, as they continue their preparation for the World Netball Championships, which will begin here tomorrow.

Jamaica's senior netball team, the Sunshine Girls, are among Justbet's favourites to win the world title ahead of the 2011 staging of the World Netball Championships, to be held from July 3-10 in Singapore.

As expected, defending champions and world number-one ranked Australia are the top favourite to claim the title at odds of 1.60 (or 3 to 5), followed by New Zealand at odds of 2.05 (or 21 to 20).

Next is Jamaica at odds of 8.00 (or 7 to 1), then England - who the Sunshine Girls defeated in a three-match series in Jamaica a couple months ago - at odds of 10.00 (or 9 to 1).

Odds on any of the other 12 participating teams winning the title are 50.00 (or 49 to 1).

The Sunshine Girls have been England's nemesis at recent World Championships, securing a win by a single point in the third-place match at the 2007 tournament in New Zealand, to claim the bronze medal.

Jamaica also beat England in the bronze medal match at the 2003 tournament.

Australia have won four of the last five World Championships and nine of the 12 tournaments held since the inaugural staging in 1963. The only Caribbean team to have ever won the world title was Trinidad and Tobago, joint winners with Australia and New Zealand back in 1979.
