Jamaica bracing for close contest

Jamaica's captain, Lo-Shane Myles, says the team is bracing for a close contest against Barbados at the University of Technology on today's second day of the sixth annual West Indies Cricket Council for the Blind (WICCB) Tournament. Match time is 10 a.m.
The tournament, which is being staged here for the second time, got under way yesterday, also at the University of Technology, with Trinidad and Tobago defeating Barbados by 75 runs.
Batting first, Trinidad and Tobago made 343 for nine off their allotted 40 overs with Jennson Poyah making 106 against Haldane Forde, four for 49.
Barbados, in reply, were restricted to 268 for seven, despite 74 from Tremaine Forte, and 45 from opener Ricardo Manning.
"Jamaica has never lost the tournament since its inception, and we intend for it to stay that way," said Myles, who is leading the team for the first time and is classified as a B3 player, meaning, he is partially sighted.
Myles, who has been a member of Jamaica's five previous winning aggregations, will be looking for support from B1 (fully-blind) Daemion McLean, Alistar McLean and Jason Ricketts, B2 (partially-blind) Dwayne Campbell and Alvin James, as well as B3 Toussaint Gardener, and Mark Sweeney.
