Umpires meeting in St Lucia

The West Indies Cricket Umpires' Association (WICUA) biennial convention is now taking place in St Lucia. Umpires from across the Caribbean and North America are in attendance at the convention which started yesterday and will end on July 23.
Jamaica's 28-man delegation is being led by current president of WICUA, Steve Bucknor. Also at the meeting are secretary Vivian Johnson, area vice-president Cecil Fletcher, assistant secretary treasurer Norman Malcolm and delegates Hugh Fogo and Audley Bailey.
Election
Discussions at the convention will be centred on new laws and playing conditions, decision review system, the present status of West Indies Cricket, umpires fees - regional and international - and election of officers
Current president Bucknor will not be seeking re-election but another Jamaica, Cecil Fletcher, and former president Hartley Reid of Barbados will be seeking the top post. The convention will culminate with a cricket match on Thursday, July 21, and the president's banquet on Friday July 22.
