Chalice happy with festival-closing duties
Reggae super-group Chalice has been tapped to perform at Reggae Sumfest 2011 tomorrow in Montego Bay, St James. The veteran reggae group, which recently signed on to management through Henry Buckley, Jr's, The Skinny Bwoy Agency, LLC., will close International Night 2.
Chalice, widely known for its' high energy performances and hits which include Good To Be There, Still Love You and Revival Time, are very excited about their return to the Sumfest stage. "Being veterans of both Sunsplash and Sumfest, we welcome the return to the big stage," said Wayne Armond. "Closing the festival has always been reserved for greats like Dennis Brown and Black Uhuru, so we have some big shoes to fill. We are really looking forward to greeting the people with love."
The band is currently in the studio working on its follow-up album to last year's Let It Play, which made the NY Top 20 Reggae Albums Chart. The new album will aim at reintroducing Chalice to its legions of hardcore fans, as well as introducing the band to a whole new generation of reggae music lovers. It is scheduled for release in the fall of 2011.
