Audi gains local traction
KINGSTON: ATL Autohaus registered record sales in Jamaica for Audi in the first quarter of 2011.
According to an Automobile Dealers Association (ADA) report, "Audi is on a sharp upward sales curve for the second quarter and has been maintain a record breaking performance." In fact, ADA said Audi sales had surpassed Mercedes Benz's sales by 14 per cent.
Worldwide sales forecast for 2011 has signalled an expected remarkable year for Audi, with the company selling a record 652,950 cars in the first six months, representing an increase of 17.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2010.
Growth of the brand has been driven by the new Audi A1 and A8, while the ground-breaking phenomenon — which is the new clean-sheet designed Audi A6 — which is easily the most stylish car in the executive luxury class, is destined to be the leader amongst its premium sector competitors, said ATL insiders.
Demand for the premium carmaker's SUV models - the Q5 and Q7 - continue to be tremendous. In fact, Audi has responded by adding more shifts in its factories, to shorten delivery times.
