Depleted Reggae Boyz squad battle China

A depleted Reggae Boyz squad will take on 73rd-ranked China in an international friendly, which kicks off at 6:35 a.m. today at the Hei Fei Sports Center.
The squad, which was already missing the likes of Navian Boyd, Keammar Daley, Ryan Johnson, Duwayne Kerr, Lovel Palmer, Demar Phillips, Dane Richards, Demar Stewart, Jermaine Taylor and Jevaughn Watson, was dealt another blow yesterday when Jason Morrison was forced to pull out due to a shoulder injury he suffered on the weekend while representing his Major League club San Jose Earthquakes.
Adrian Reid, Eric Vernan, Xavian Virgo, Richard Edwards, Keneil Moodie, Omar Daley, Montrose Phinn, Ricardo Cousins, and Richard McCallum were the nine local-based players who departed Kingston for Shangai on August 5. Waterhouse's Kenardo Forbes was also scheduled to travel with the delegation, but the travel agent was unable to secure a flight for him.
Coach Theodore Whitmore was left with a squad of 15 players. The overseas-based members are: Norway-based Damian Williams, Luton Shelton and Rodolph Austin, Sweden-based Dwayne Miller, and out of the United States of America, Omar Cummings and captain Shavar Thomas. Thomas arrived in China just hours before the match after missing his original flight.
