Irie Racing hosted its second of four off-road races in the Caymanas flat lands of Mandela Highway recently much to the delight of the patrons on hand. The motocross events saw dirt bikes, SUVs, ATVs, trucks and jeeps all having their go on the rugged track.

Another highlight of the day was a bicycle race that offered a $10,000 cash prize, which was later increased by $5,000 if the winner completed the course within four minutes.

The races were divided into six categories: A-class (riders at the top of their game), B-class (riders average and above), open class (open to all), license plate class (street legal dirt bikes), 4x4 class (jeeps and SUVs), and a one-lap bicycle race.

Poll position

The day started off with the B-class category where Orlando Wynter placed first overall, followed by Aaron March and Jamieson Daley in third. Kyle Reynolds of Irie Racing won the A-class category, with Jared Wright in second position and Warren Marley finishing third overall.

The licence plate class saw Allan Langdon in poll position, Jamieson Daley in second and Girvan Thompson taking third place.

In the open class Jared Wright was first, Kyle Reynolds second and Warren Marley finished third.

Nigel Wilmot was first in the 4x4 category, and the bicycle race was won by Ray Clarke.

The next event is scheduled for Sunday, August 28 and promises "clean family fun filled with loads of excitement".
