Watch those phones!

1. Story is no one in any official position is prepared to say anything of note on the telephone these days, as the party and its officers are so fearful that their conversations are being recorded. They now opt for out-of-office meetings!

Still in shock

2. Some close friends and family members are still in shock that not only did he turn up at the official 'farewell', but he participated. They say the deceased was no doubt turning in his casket, as this was the same individual who threw him out of his office years ago, and if that was not enough, to add insult to injury, had security guards subject him to a body search before he was allowed to leave the offices!

Loud whispers

3. The whispers all over the place are that warrants are in the making for the demoted one! The problem, some are saying, is finding him to execute them!

No surprises here!

4. Some say recent utterances are clearly a case of the tail wagging the dog. But they say no surprises here as that is symptomatic of the way things are now done!

Why the headache?

5. Some are saying there's a breakdown somewhere as there is no commensurate rush of visitors to our shores or increased occupancy with the reported lack of airline seats, as some hotels are experiencing below 50 per cent occupancy; hence they cannot understand why is it so difficult to get a seat out of the island!

Deplorable roads

6. Some say it's a case of being "nearer to church but farther from God", when it comes to roads in New Kingston, particularly Haining Road, which is just across from the JLP's Belmont Road headquarters and is in such a state of disrepair, it's a crying shame! Others say, it is because it's in a respectable neighbourhood, and no one is prepared to block the roadway for the TV cameras.
