Broderick double launches Jamaica into second round

SAN CRISTOBAL, Dominican Republic (CMC):
Nicole Broderick hit her second brace of the tournament as Jamaica trounced the Dominican Republic (DR) 3-0 on Sunday, to advance to the second round of the CONCACAF Under-17 Women's Championship.
The 15-year-old scored both of her goals in the second half to break stubborn DR resistance at the Estadio Panamericano, with Shantel Bailey adding a third for good measure at the death.
With the victory, Jamaica topped the standings in Group D with six points, following their 9-0 crushing of Aruba.
Following a goalless first half, Broderick put Jamaica ahead early in the second half when she scored in the 46th minute, but had to wait until the 75th minute before she could add her second.
With the game done and dusted, Bailey iced her side's win with a 90th-minute strike.
Jamaica will now join The Bahamas and Guyana in the second round of qualifying with Dominica, Trinidad & Tobago and St Kitts and Nevis set to contest Group B from next month.
Three teams from the second round will advance to the CONCACAF finals next year.
