'Corner Stone' moves up the totem pole
"You see the same stone, that the builder man refuse, shall be the head corner stone, I'm gonna make it on my own. Tru me a rising star, dem nuh waan me reach too far, but Jah shine him light ina de wilderness ... . De corner stone dem refuse it, but man firm and solid as a rock ..."
-Jermaine Michael's Corner Stone
These words echo over the radio numerous times each day, the lyrics of Jermaine Michael's Corner Stone, a single that has picked up momentum on radio stations locally and internationally over the past few weeks. Clearly motivational, one gets the feeling that the repetitive plays by some jocks signify personal beliefs in the message being sent across the airwaves.
Corner Stone has a video in rotation as well. In the video, a music producer who chases Michael from his studio door is left holding his head with both hands when he sees him on television.
"Yu fi give young artiste a chance," the producer's friend said during the scene. The message is real and mimics the story of many a successful person.
Since dropping the single, the Stashment Production reggae artiste has been busy with interviews promoting his new video.
