A 24-hour party? Sign me up!

On Thursday, September 15, the beautiful people flocked to Fiction for an extra-special event. The ultra-chic nightclub was one of the 87 venues in 40 countries that took part in the The Global Party. The party concept was inspired by Phileas Fogg, lead character of the classic novel Around the World in 80 Days.

Venues also did their thing on Friday, September 16 because this was a round-the-clock bash to help raise awareness and hopefully a significant amount of money for various charities. The Global Party directors had selected 15 charities, while locally, Fiction was supporting Chain of Hope Jamaica.

The parking lot of the already well-supported club was packed with even more classy autos on Thursday as guests began arriving, the showpiece being the S-Class Mercedes from corporate giant Silver Star Motors (part of the Stewart's Auto group). The dress code said 'dress like the world was your stage' and the fashionistas came out ready for the catwalk. It was a style aficionado's Mecca.

The beats were thumping early from Shane 'Firestarter' Graham (on the terrace) and DJ Narity juggling his hits for the early arrivers. It wasn't long before the pace picked up, the conversations yielding to 'getting down'. A little after midnight, Kirk-Anthoy Hamilton, director at Fiction, and the 'star boy' who got Jamaica involved in the global event thanked guests for their support and introduced DJ Irie from South Beach who then raised the temperature a few more degrees.

Guests out included Richard and Diana Stewart, Duncan and Debbie Stewart, Dorothea Gordon-Smith and Rajiv Bakshi, Jean Lowrie-Chin, husband Hubie and daughter Anita, Donovan and Michelle Perkins, Mark and Karen Myers, Lorna Myers, Nikolaus Price and Anna-Kaye Chisholm, Ed Khoury, Sharon Bourke, Lisa Bell, Wayne Boodasingh, Carole Beckford, Stephen Price and Imani Duncan, William and Sandy Tavares-Finson, Chris Berry and wife Dr Patricia Yap, Richard and Nicole Pandohie, Dominic Azan, Al Edwards, Breanna Rae, Denise Williams and Carlos Max-Brown.

So the only question is, while Fiction was jumping, where were you?
