... Edi Fitzroy complains about lack of airplay for latest album

Edi Fitzroy's most recent album is the 2010 Peace and Love for Hill Side Productions, run by Anthony McKenzie and Sergeant Juggler. However, Fitzroy complains that he is not getting consistent airplay for what he considers to be a good album.

The producers confirm that while songs from the album are getting some rotation on radio, it is not sufficient or often enough to solidify the set in the minds of listeners. Still, Fitzroy said that he prefers to work with producers like the Hill Side duo "who will put out your album. Sometimes you work for the big producers and your album gets stale on the shelf".

Like many album projects, Peace and Love grew from one single, Oh Girl, after Fitzroy was approached with the rhythm in 2009. For the full set, which Oh Girl is on, Fitzroy said "it took us about a year to do at (guitarist) Gibby's studio". Oh Girl will also be included on an all-star Various Artistes album from Hill Side Productions. That album is in the harmony and mixing stages.

Although being affected by inconsistent airplay in Jamaica, Edi Fitzroy did a tour of the United States' West Coast earlier this year and also performed in New York for the first time in about 10 years. Next year, Fitzroy said, "I have some shows coming up in Africa". So far, South Africa has been confirmed.
