WI-India one-dayers under lights

MUMBAI, India (IANS-CMC):

All five one-day internationals between West Indies and India, starting next month, will be day-night affairs, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) announced yesterday. This was confirmed by BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale.

West Indies will open the series in Cuttack on November 29, before travelling to Vishakhapatnam for the second ODI four days later. The remaining matches will be played in Ahmedabad (December 5), Indore (December 8) and Chennai (December 11).

West Indies will also play three Tests in the build-up to the one-day series, with matches slated for Delhi from November 6-10, Kolkata from November 14-18, and Mumbai from November 22-26. The Windies are currently on a Test and ODI tour of Bangladesh.

Adrian barath out

Meanwhile, injury has forced opener Adrian Barath out of the Test series against Bangladesh, starting later this week, and selectors have called up in-form opener Lendl Simmons as the replacement. The 21-year-old Barath has failed to recover from a hamstring injury sustained in the first ODI last week, and will not feature in the two-match series which bowls off tomorrow in Chittagong.

The first Test is scheduled to run from October 21-25 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, with the second match carded for October 29 to November 3 at the She-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
