TANTALOO to atone

Thanks to a 17-1 upset by SI PUEDO in the eighth race on Wednesday at Caymanas Park, the Pick-9 eluded punters and still has $1 million in the kitty.

The second Super-6 had no takers as well and the carryover to tomorrow's overlapping Super-6 (from race 4 to 9) stands at $832,770.00.

The Pick-9 embraces all nine races on the card, the first Super-6 from race two to seven. We look at the second Super-6, which gets under way in the fourth race, a 3-y-o maiden special to be contested by 10 starters over 1400 metres.

Problems

Clearly, the horse to beat is WIN BRACELET, who failed by a short head to catch NEVER GIVE UP over 1200 metres on October 15, a race in which FIRST OF ALL finished less than a length away third, and GOODGIRL ATTITUDE 6¹/² lengths fourth.

UNCLE KEN, one of the top three-year-olds early in the season when trained by Gary Subratie, steps down to a lowly $180,000 claiming tag for the fifth race over 1400 metres, and while he has had his problems, his back class should suffice. He gets the nod over the front-running CENTEYA and down-in-class TOBAGO.

Briefly, Wayne DaCosta's TANTALOO, who made a promising debut in a recent 2-y-o race, should go one better in the sixth, while the late-kicking RED FLAG should catch RIGHT MARKER and LADY MACBETH in the closing stages of the seventh race over 1300 metres for native and imported three-year-olds. Then, take down-in-class LIKKLE BIT in the eighth for the Cecil C. Charlton Trophy over 1300 metres, and close with AQUILLO (an unlucky loser last time) in the nightpan.
