Platinum King for feature

The Abbie Grannum Memorial Cup is today's feature race at Caymanas Park.

Eleven starters, including the first-time runners ZANZIBAR and MARTHA, neither of whom is forward enough to win at this stage, have been declared for the race.

Youngsters such as PLATINUM KING, SUNSHINE CITY, CASH TALKS, EDISON and IMPERIAL FORTUNE should ensure keen competition as a number of them should improve on their last running.

CASH TALKS, to be ridden by journeyman jockey Vassell Najair for his wife Janet, has shown good ability in six starts and by virtue of his experience, should be in contention at the end.

Also expected to figure prominently are the Phillip Elliott-trained SUNSHINE CITY, who was beaten into third place by I'M ALLWRIGHT in a blanket finish over 1200 metres on October 29; Richard Azan's EDISON who has not only shown good speed in his races but runs on Lasix for the first time, and not least, PLATINUM KING, the mount of champion jockey Omar Walker.

Trained by Howard Jaghai, PLATINUM KING failed by half a length to catch DIFERENTGENERATION over this trip on October 26 when administered Lasix for the first time and having worked well in preparation for today's race, gets the nod over SUNSHINE CITY and CASH TALKS.
