Transport system woefully lacking

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I am frustrated and annoyed at our transport system, both government and private. I live in the district of Tavern.

The bus that I take is supposed to travel to Lawrence Tavern. In the mornings, it's a little okay, but in the evenings, that's when the problems develop.

All the buses that are supposed to travel that route no longer do so. Instead, they choose to go to Stony Hill or Golden Spring - the shorter routes.

Now, government buses no longer ply that route, so we, the commuters, are forced to wait three to four hours for a Coaster bus. In the evenings, Half-Way Tree is filled with a long line of commuters which include a lot of schoolchildren who can't afford to take the same bus to go to Stony Hill or Golden Spring, and then to take a minivan or taxi to Tavern, then to take a taxi to Lucky Hill, August Town or Glengoffe. We admit that the journey is a bit far for the $80, but we have no choice, since our salaries are not increasing.

Please, I am asking, no, begging Mr Mike Henry and his transport ministry to look into this for us.
