WESTERN BUREAU:In the six months that Davon Crump has taken the reins of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chas E. Ramson western Jamaica bigwig has transformed the landscape of the business community.
Celebrating business excellence on Saturday, November 12, Crump said thanks in fine style to a few companies that have made a difference in the tourism capital when he awarded Caribbean Producers Jamaica, Western Publishers Limited, Barnett Limited, Secrets Resorts and the Montego Bay Community College for sustaining the vision of a 'Better Montego Bay'.
"We have much to celebrate," Crump declared, noting that despite all the challenges businesses are facing in these harsh economic times, the majority are working hard to stay afloat.
"Resilience is the order of the day, as in my constant dialogue with members and non-members alike, there is a clear resolve to succeed against all odds," he told the large gathering from the business community who turned out to support the event.
He recognised the recipients at the event as being among those who continue to innovate while contributing to further develop industry and commerce in Montego Bay and western Jamaica.
