Twisted Spiritz goes all black
Curtis Campbell, Gleaner Writer
Elegant and exotic party Twisted Spiritz is set to bring exclusivity and energy to the Caymanas Polo Club tonight. The party is using an all-black concept for the first time since its inception.
Ron Burke of Dark Entertainment, who organises Twisted Spiritz, said they are stepping away from the ordinary.
"This is the first time we are doing the all-black concept, and we decided to go with that theme because black is cooler in the Christmas. We notice that promoters tend to go with white-themed parties in Christmas, so we go for difference and step away from the ordinary," he said.
The event is super-drink-inclusive, and Burke said that the mixeswill be exclusive and in variety. "It will be super-drink-inclusive - that is, all the drink you can drink for free; there will be 21 mixes of Smirnoff; and we will also have Heineken, Red Stripe - you name it, we will have it," he said.
Twisted Spiritz is being hosted at the Caymanas Polo Club for the first time and, according to Burke, the decision is fruitful. "This venue is far from residential areas. It has a lot of parking area. It's closer than our previous venue at the airport, we get to party for longer and it's easier to bring out the all-black concept with the décor because of the trees," Burke said.
Twisted Spiritz is also known as one of the premier parties in the Dream Weekend package and Burke promises that the accustomed level of entertainment will be provided at this year-end staging.
"Patrons can expect a similar type of vibe as Dream Weekend. We aim to be consistent at all times. The event also ties in with the Smirnoff Nightlife project because it involves cocktails and we focus on international mixes and they will be readily available to the patrons," Burke said.
The gates will be open at 10 p.m.
Ticket outlets
Tickets are available for sale at various LIME locations, such as Carlton Crescent on Half-Way Tree Road, Knutsford Boulevard, the Bargain Mall, and Portmore Mall. Tickets can also be purchased at TGIF Old Hope Road and Genus Pharmacy in Portmore. Patrons can have their tickets delivered free by calling Get It Courier service at 754-3848.
Each purchase of a presold ticket will see customers receiving a free phone courtesy of LIME. Tickets are $2,500 presold and $3,000 at the gate
The DJs slated to deliver the musical entertainment are ZJ Liquid, DJ Nicco, Jazzy T, DJ Narity, and Coppershot.
Will yesterday's election affect tonight's turnout? According to Burke, Twisted Spiritz is a party for all Jamaicans. "We are a party for everybody, so if you are voting, vote for Twisted Spiritz," he said laughing.
"Patrons should turn out at this event because it is the number-one premium mixes event. It's kept three times per year and is always perfectly executed. We give a good vibe and the best music and experience one can have at a party," he said.
Security will be provided by police and security personnel. "No weapons are allowed and no fighting will be tolerated at Twisted Spiritz, so just come out in your black and have fun," Burke concluded.
The event is endorsed by LIME, Grace, Smirnoff, NCB, Pure Country, Dream Entertainment, The Gleaner, and Versalles, among others.
