SAN JUAN, (AP):
The United States Coast Guard says it has detained five men who were aboard a boat near Puerto Rico with US$190,000 in cash and 300 rounds of ammunition.
The agency said in a statement last Friday that the unmarked boat was travelling northwest of the US Caribbean territory when it was seized late Wednesday.
US federal agencies say seizures of suspicious cash in Puerto Rico have increased this year as a result of what they believe is a jump in drug trafficking throughout the Caribbean.
