International deejay Sean Paul celebrated his birthday with a club full of friends, fans and partygoers during Brand New Machine on Wednesday.

Held at the Fiction Nightclub, the weekly Brand New Machine was dubbed the ‘Tomahawk Technique’ in honour of Sean Paul’s fifth studio album.

It initially seemed the night would have been a slow one for Sean Paul, as at 11 p.m there was only a handful of people inside the popular nightclub. The initial signs did not warn of what was to come.

The man of the hour was there early and enjoyed the leisure of the Johnny Walker Lounge before he headed to VIP where the real party began.

Persons from the entertainment fraternity such as Beenie Man, Raine Seville, Junior Gong, Tarrus Riley, Protoje, DJ Narity and Coppershot crew came out to show their support. The video medley for Sean Paul’s first production effort, Material, was put on repeat on all the screens in the club.

People enjoyed the music and showed their appreciation by dancing throughout the night. ZJ Elecktra pushed the energy levels in the club by playing a slew of dancehall hits like Assassin’s Dem Don’t Like You and Sean Paul’s Temperature before switching to dance music. Coppershot’s DJ Shaun and Ash also tried to change the temperature inside Fiction with Konshens’ Winner, Mavado’s You Know You Love Me, and Cham’s Vitamin S.

Songs from the Smokin’ rhythm created some amount of interest as did the introduction of Cham’s Wine.
