Something extra
There are so many events happening these days it's hard to keep up, but we do.
Be my Valentine ...Again!
Are you celebrating your 10th wedding anniversary this year? Better yet, were you married on Valentine's Day 10 years ago? Do you have to juggle your hectic lifestyle by taking care of your family while you work (and perhaps study) 24/7 without time for yourself? Do you have trouble recalling the last time you and your other half were alone without the children under your feet?
If you meet these criteria, send us a 100-word essay telling us why you deserve to be totally pampered from morning 'til night on Valentine's Day.
Email us at: lifestyle@gleanerjm.com by January 31 and we will decide which lucky couple deserves a room for the night at a luxurious hotel, plus Digicel Blackberries, Spa day at Jencare and lots more.
CAPTION: From left: Montego Bay businesswoman, Odette Dyer (left), with
megastar Samuel L Jackson and Nicolette Pryce, Dyer's cousin. Jackson
is currently playing the lead role alongside Angella Bassett in play
"Martin Luther King" and the trio met backstage after a recent
performance at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. Dyer told Extra
that Jackson and Bassett took the audience to the 'mountain top" with
their superb portrayal of King. "Jackson magnificently captured Katori
Hall's vision of humanising MLK. And it was Bassett's stellar
performance that took the play to another level. One would expect a play
about MLK to be quite serious and deep, however it took us through a
series of emotions, the thundering and lightning had some audience
members on the edge of their seats in fright. Bassett's witty and
comedic delivery had the audience erupting in laughter, while some cried
as Samuel L. Jackson brought MLK to life on that stage, showing that he
had no choice but to face his impending death."
