While there was the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in Trelawny last week, simultaneously, Montego Bay enjoyed its fair share of celebrities.

Digicel, Compound Island and Secrets Resorts and Spas kicked off a star-studded celebrity weekend at the Secrets Resorts and Spas, Montego Bay property.

Starting with a meet-and-greet, the events continued on Friday night with the regional screening of George Lucas's Red Tails and climaxed with a beach party at the Secrets Seawind Club in Montego Bay.

The Second City was graced with international recording artistes Ne-Yo, Keri Hilson and former 3LW beauty Adrienne Bailon, who were joined by Jamaican celebrities, including Digicel Brand Ambassadors Chris Gayle and I-Octane.

"We are thrilled to have partnered with Compound Island and Secrets Resorts for this very successful weekend. Together we hosted three great events that showed the synergy of music and the celebration of our culture," said Shelly-Ann Curran, Digicel Jamaica's senior sponsorships and activations manager.

Support events

"Digicel remains committed as a proud supporter of Jamaica, our music and our culture, and we look forward to continuing to support events of this kind that not only put Brand Jamaica on the map as a musical mecca but also as a fantastic destination," said Curran.

Tishawn Gayle, president and COO of Compound Island, said, "We are very happy with the turnout and the support of the events Compound Island held in beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica, this past weekend. Special thanks to Secrets Resorts, Digicel and all the sponsors for partnering with us and creating a fun social-networking event for artistes, executives and all the brands to attend."
